“I am interested in societal taboos. My jumping off points for work are the real-time emotional journeys I undergo in my life. These lead me to ask questions: what about this experience is universal? What about this experience is taboo?  What about this experience relates to the human in all of us? Are there already words for this journey? How can I transpose this emotional journey into a story for audiences? My research aims to put words on emotional journeys we face, but are too big, or taboo, to process alone.”

Maureen trained for a BFA in studio acting with the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, MN from 2015-2018 where she studied the classical canon, voice and Roy Hart. After moving to London to study Shakespeare at the Globe Theater, she completed an MFA in Devised Theater Making with Arthaus Berlin in conjunction with Rose Bruford College London from 2018-2021. She is an emerging artist in Berlin, and has worked as an actress and vocalist   with projects in the city such as Bowie in Berlin, Cohabitation and Tender Horror. She has worked as assistant director on various productions as well, and is working now to combine these experiences into her first fully produced and realized concept: a one woman show about killing.
